I wrap up today’s Sunday Salon with a list of links to sites and posts that piqued my interest and, in turn, may also pique yours.
- Bloody Hell, It’s A Book Barrage: I’m not sure where I came across this blog, but I love the header alone and look forward to exploring the blog more.
- Devourer of Books introduced me to Lauren Willig’s Pink Carnation Series, in the vein of The Scarlet Pimpernel here.
- I’m so behind. Evidently for quite a while now, Stefanie at So Many Books has been sharing her thoughts on essays from Ralph Waldo Emerson on her blog, So Many Books. Here is a post from last Sunday as this Sunday she took a break to watch the Olympics.
- Although this is from last week’s Sunday Salon, it’s still worth repeating this week: Fashionista Parinha is hosting a Neil Gaiman giveway, with several of his books up for grabs including an ARC copy of his next book, The Graveyard Book, to be released Sept. 30, 2008. For more information, check out the post here.
- Rebecca Reid had two posts (one of which I still have to comment) on her blog, Rebecca Reads, that caught my eye this week: one, speaking of ARCs, on Why ARCs? and another on Blogging and Copyright.
- Amy, meanwhile, at My Friend Amy also had two posts that caught my eyes: one, from last week, Why I Don’t Use The Library Part Three: The Finale, and one, from a couple of weeks ago, 4 Tips for Deepening Your Blogging Friendships, three of which I’ve actually done. The fourth is guest blogging which I have yet to do.
- I might have mentioned it previously, but if not, I have joined Clare Swindlehurt’s Blue Archipelago Virtual Book Club. If interested, check out her site.
- Ann Kingman presented back in July on the blog, Books on the Nightstand, 10 ways to find more time for reading. I don’t know where I found this link either or why it’s taking me so long to get the link posted here, but regardless, Kingman’s ideas are still worth noting for future reference.
I almost forgot to mention one last one: Allison Decker at YPulse Books, a site that “focuses on books for and about children and young adults as well as news, current trends and content”, mentioned my review of The Absolutely True Diary of A Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie. In the same article, she links to reviews of the book from The New York Times and The L.A. Times. I think it’s the first time any of my work has been mentioned in the same breath as two of the country’s leading newspapers. Oooh. Ahhh. Goosebumps.
And yes, I’m still reading The Triumph of Caesar by Steven Saylor for today, where Gordianus just met with the Great One himself, speaking of “oooh” and “ahhh”. :)

Bloody Hell, It’s a Book Barrage is my absolute favorite blog title in all the world. I haven’t posted a comment on either of Rebecca Reid’s great posts, either. Very thought provoking.
